Writers familiar with stars, heavenly not Hollywood, have new venue

September 13, 2000 - The Space Generation, "Gen S," may not have been born yet, but Space Illustrated is betting that readers will be interested in not only current scientific, space-related events, but what the future holds as well.

Editor Andrew Chaikin will oversee the title's content which includes things like what it will be like to live on Mars, mysteries of the planets, interviews with astronauts, and what impact asteroids might have in our earthly future.

Headquarters is in New York at 212-703-5800.

For star gazing writers who are more at home with the technical beat, Space.com recently purchased London-based Space Business International. This title, launched in 1997, is a quarterly magazine edited by Mike Blackwell, and provides coverage of the space industry, especially satellite communications and aerospace businesses.

The Washington, D.C. news bureau chief, Peter Warner, can be reached at 301-279-2578. Our database of over 2000 publications can be searched for more information.
