Clarity aims to capture African American audience October 25, 2000 - If you want to know what Clarity is going to be all about, just look at the potential subtitle: Black America's Clear Choice for the News. The magazine is scheduled to debut some time in early 2001, but raising the necessary capital is still not completed. Founder George Curry, formerly the editor of Emerge, says that "he thinks a well-executed black-oriented take on the news could have a circulation of 300,000." Never mind that Emerge never pushed circulation over 170,000.
"I think that people are looking for a more sophisticated approach to black audiences," added Mr. Curry. |
