Woman Rider launches in July to tap growing market May 3, 2000 - Woman Rider will launch its premier issue in July with a distribution of 40,000 copies targeted at owner Ehlert Publishing's established database of women motorcycle enthusiasts culled from Rider, American Rider, Cruising Rider and Thunder Press. The title will focus on the motorcycle lifestyle from a women's point of view and will include profiles of women motorcyclists and clubs, women-owned dealerships, technical tips, racing, travel and industry news. Publishing frequency should increase to four issues in 2001 under the guidance of editor Genevieve Schmitt, former editor of the ceased publication Asphalt Angels. Women purchased 10 percent of all motorcycles sold in 1999, with current statistics showing that one in every 12 owners in the U.S. is a women. |
