Financial Advisor plans to deliver broader coverage to target audience

May 17, 2000 - According to Financial Advisor, a new bimonthly title due to launch in July, changes in the advisor-client relationship is what will drive Financial Advisor to cover a wider range of concerns, from career changes to college funding.

Editorial director Evan Simonoff, formerly the editor-in-chief of competitor Financial Planning, notes that financial advisors not only need to address the changing financial needs of their clients, but are increasingly more involved in the personal aspects of their client's lives.

The publication, owned by new start-up company Charter Financial Publishing Network, will start with an initial controlled circulation of 50,000 that includes not only financial advisors, but also qualified readers in the brokerage, banking, insurance and accounting workplaces.

Additional exposure for the title will be realized through a joint venture with Money Show, an investor's trade conference.
