Is Talk all talked out? Not quite yet. June 19, 2000 - Writers who are querying or providing articles for Talk need to stay in close contact to determine whether or not the planned changes for the title's outer image, due to a significant slip in ad revenue, will impact inner content. Talk originally mimicked European print formats, but starting with the September issue, will more closely resemble top U.S. titles such as InStyle and Vanity Fair. Editor-in-chief Tina Brown is adamant that the initial vision of blending news and glamour for busy, intelligent readers will remain unchanged. Still, business is business, and if ad revenues don't improve, all the great content in the world won't save it. Circulation for this Hearst/Miramax title will increase 25 percent in September for a total ratebase of 600,000. Our database provides useful information for writers. |
