Electronic House relaunches with new editorial focus

June 30, 2000 -- Fifteen-year old consumer magazine Electronic House hits the newsstands this week with a new look.

"The magazine's re-launch is a direct response to the growing consumer awareness and acceptance of home technology," says Editor-in-chief Amanda Finch. "In the early days of Electronic House, the technologies we reported on were limited to a much smaller market. But today, the mainstream is answering the 'call of the wired.' And our magazine reflects that shift."

The current content includes pricing of home electronics systems, detailing estimated installation and product costs; timelines and tips for implementing technology into both existing homes and homes under construction; blueprints and diagrams that suggest proper placement of equipment such as cabling, speakers, keypads and data outlets; and in-depth reviews of products by industry experts. With the redesign, Electronic House will also feature new departments to cover emerging broadband services, PC networking, small office/home office technology and connected communities.

Writers can pick up a copy this week to check out the new slant.
