Heeb caters to young progressive Jews

July 30, 2001 - Magazines for hip young urban Jews seem to burn out quickly, but editor and publisher Jennifer Bleyer is betting on her new title Heeb, aiming for smart and funny. If your material is appropriate for the Scarsdale Jewish Journal or the Boca Raton News for Jews, you don't need to query Heeb.

The title, set to debut in January and appear twice more in 2002, wants to approach the subject of "Jewish" from the side rather than head-on. This means reports, criticisms, reviews, personal essays and interviews of only the most interesting sort. For example, what is Jewish about serial killers in the Midwest? That would be of interest to the title according to its website.

The target market is 60,000 readers in their 20s and 30s with an initial print run of 20,000. Check the website for specific e-mail addresses depending on the type of material you wish to submit or use snail mail at Heeb Magazine, P.O. Box 20074, Brooklyn, NY 11205. Pay is minimal but the concept eclectic.

Content and contact information on over 2,000 current publications are available on our database.
