List, a new alternative title outrageously creative writers might have fun with July 17, 2000 - Just when you thought you had seen it all, out comes a new quarterly magazine called List. Editor-in-chief List Ano claims the idea was a natural extension of our society's continual need to categorize and rank everything. Hop onto the bare bones web site, www.listmag.com, and you'll get a taste of the irreverent tone of voice that has been adopted. There's an open invitation to submit a list, a chance for writers who might have a kooky enough idea to capture the title's attention. It's hard to say if you could parlay this into a paid opportunity. Initial lists will include dead porn stars, top IPO's and the guest list for Talk's launch party. The first issue will consist of 10,000 newsstand copies in New York, Los Angeles and a few international cities. At $15 a pop, it's hard to predict the success of this title. The title was founded by Serge Becker, Michael Donahue and publisher CAN Resources.
