I-Street new name for Chicago software news title

July 24, 2000 - After i-Street Inc. purchased Chicago Software News, it promptly re-titled the magazine to i-Street. In addition, the title will move publication headquarters from . . . Boston to . . . Chicago.

Targeted at Internet and software executives, with a circulation of just 15,000, coverage will focus on trends, analysis and feature stories about Chicago's, and the general Midwest's, high tech market. The title will reportedly be patterned after the successful model of online news and magazines such as Red Herring and Silicon Alley Reporter.

Perhaps the July premier issue, which features 26 leading women of the New Economy, indicates the course the revamped publication is taking. It only makes sense that Editor-in-chief Gary Ruderman is choosing editorial content to fulfill the magazine's tagline, "News & Networking for the New Economy."
