Hotdots to simplify women's online shopping experience July 12, 2000 - Starting in November, women will have a new resource for shopping online. Hotdots, a new lifestyle magazine from Southern Progress Corp., is not a magazine about web sites. Its goal is to simplify readers' choices in shopping online. Areas that will be covered include home, beauty, fashion, health and fitness, travel, children, entertainment and technology. The title's editor, Mark Mayfield, noted, "We'll not only tell readers about products and services and where to find them online, we'll also publish major feature articles on trends in everything from fashion to sports gear to travel." For instance, the November/December launch issue, due on newsstands November 6, will include articles on wines for under $20, holiday movie hits, fitness gear and a how-to about taking runway fashion and turning it into reality. Mr. Mayfield indicated that trend spotters and nationally known writers have already been hired, but as we all know, pitching a well-thought idea might get you a writing assignment. Check our database for information useful to freelance writers. The publishing schedule will remain bimonthly through 2001 with a starting ratebase of 400,000. 2002 should see monthly issues on the newsstand.
