Writers to use personal experience to successfully pitch Mademoiselle as the title revamps content

February 7, 2001 - The "me" focus of Mademoiselle over the last six to eight months is about to come to an end. Gone will be the cutesy nicknames and chirpiness that turned loyal readers off, as the title transitions over the next few months to re-embrace women in their upper 20s to early 30s.

The tone will still be fun, noted Mandi Norwood, editor-in-chief, but content will move to smarter and more thought-provoking topics.

Out are the "as told to" features.

In are writers who pitch thoughtful ideas from their personal experience.

Expect changes to be incorporated in a slow evolution over the next few months. The target audience is post-college, but before family, gals, the ones who can splurge on outrageously priced clothing.
