FringeGolf targets young golfing hipsters

February 7, 2001 - Golfers who feel alienated by the stodginess of the traditional golfing press will soon have a new title aimed directly towards them. FringeGolf is looking to reassure young golfers that despite their lack of time, money and correct clothing, it's "ok to be who you are."

Content will focus more on human interest articles rather than swing analysis, and departments are titled Urban Golf, Golf Tips (That Don't Suck) and StyleWatch, to name a few. Sharp wit and an irreverent take on the sport, that still remains respectful, is the tone the magazine is looking for. In addition, women golfers will be equally represented.

Contact the title at editor@fringegolf.com or send submissions to submissions@fringegolf.com. Snail mail goes to headquarters in San Francisco at Fringe, Inc., 360 Ritch Street, Suite 205 , San Francisco, CA 94107-1275. The editor's name is not immediately known.

Circulation is expected to start with 100,000 at launch.
