New UK-based fashion title to launch August 20, 2001 - The male and female fashion elite over the age of 30 is the target audience of a new fashion title, Spruce. Unlike other fashion magazines however, Spruce will avoid celebrity coverage, designer profiles or trendy kids in London or LA. The title will debut on August 30 with a target circulation of 130,000 worldwide. While the majority of content will be fashion spreads, Spruce will add a surprising component - a news led feature. The first issue will cover brand awareness, revealing the shareholders behind the major fashion brands - perfect for dinner chatter of the wealthy. Other features in the first issue include profiles of leading retail analysts, an expose of the booming plastic surgery business in Iran and machines that will change the way clothes are made.
