EXPN Magazine debuts as test issue

August 6, 2001 - EXPN Magazine "will tap the consciousness of fans, participants and athletes with total-access lifestyle reporting and behind-the-schemes coverage of the action sports world." Content will include culture, lifestyle, music, clothes and language of action sports athletes.

Besides distribution at the X Games venue, the First Union Center in Philadelphia, check the seven ESPN Zones, and Barnes and Noble and B. Dalton bookstores.

The test issue is being handled by editor Steve Malley under the supervision of ESPN The Magazine's editor-in-chief John Papanek.
