U.S. edition of Spanish-language title Selecciones to relaunch April 9, 2001 - The U.S. edition of Selecciones will relaunch in May, focusing on offering Latino readers original articles on living a fulfilling life and dealing with everyday challenges they may experience in their new homeland. Content will include news reports on attitudes and behavior that shape the Hispanic community in this country along with balanced, lively interviews with high-profile personalities as a source of information and motivation. The 60-year-old title is seeking to present a more contemporary and relevant package to the 35.3 million Hispanics who reside in the United States (according to the U.S. Census 2000), approximately 12.5 percent of the total population. Circulation is currently at 250,000 copies with an estimated 2 million readers. The Reader's Digest Association Inc. title has named Luisa Fairborne as publisher and Carmen-Alicia Fernandez as managing editor.
