MILWAUKEE ALCOHOLMANAC is all about the entertainment scene in Milwaukee, WI. Topics range from bar, restaurant, hotel, and entertainment hotspot reviews, profiles of area bartenders, upcoming events, and nightlife advice. Brian West oversees this bi-monthly magazine, which recently debuted and is distributed through area businesses.
FAITHFUL SISTER targets African-American teen girls with a Christian perspective on lifestyle, health, beauty, décor, and interviews with role models. Publisher Pamela Holley-Bright is at the helm of this quarterly Bright Morningstar magazine, which debuted with the Fall 2007 issue. Copies are distributed in Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point, NC.
 

Regional publication about work and play

October 30, 2007 - PITTSBURGH PROFESSIONAL MAGAZINE is all about "the education, careers, and lifestyles of the business professionals who live, work, and play in Southwestern Pennsylvania."  Articles focus on achieving a balance between work, family, home, and recreation.

Michael Yablonski is editor of this monthly title, which debuted with the August issue and distributes 25,000 copies to affluent households, bookstores, and newsstands.
 

Regional dog magazine for seafaring owners

October 30, 2007 - FLORIDA DOG targets people in the nautical community who include dogs in their lifestyle.  Topics include news, products, events, travel tips, health, and nutrition.

Melanie Daily is editor of this quarterly publication, which debuted one year ago. 20,000 copies are distributed at marinas, executive airports, and upscale boutiques statewide.
 

Regional B2B magazine launched

October 30, 2007 - BUSINESSROCKFORD.COM covers business news, market advice, local overviews, and success stories for the Rockford, IL area.

Jack Burke is editor of this weekly GateHouse Media magazine, which debuts this week.  6,000 copies are distributed to business owners, executives and managers.

offers information on cars at auction, market updates, buy/sell news, affordable classics, events, and new model reviews. Keith Martin in editor of this quarterly magazine, a sister title to SPORTS CAR MARKET. The premier issue is now available.
LOFTS is a urban lifestyle magazine “aimed at efficient and ecologically-minded living with the propensity for beautiful, eclectic and diverse interiors.” Topics include emerging loft communities, industry player profiles, gadgetry, and inspiring homes. Published by APG Media, the debut issue reached newsstands on October 16.
LODGES is a luxury outdoors enthusiast magazine with topics ranging from lodge and chalet living to five-star travel destinations, architecture and interior décor, fashion, history, and entertaining. Jennifer Myers is editor of this APG Media publication, which debuted on newsstands October 23.
ASSOCIATES, a Canadian magazine targeting new lawyers, is being previewed by CLB Media. Publisher Karen Lorimer is at the helm of this magazine, which will publish quarterly in 2008. Distribution is to 10,000 associate lawyers nationally.
 

Miami magazine about art and culture

October 25, 2007 - MAP targets affluent consumers in the Miami area who have "a passion for music, the arts, fashion, cuisine and everything that is design."  Upcoming issues will focus on "maestros and mavericks," "the epicurean," and "music and sound."

Omar Sommereyns is editor of this quarterly publication, which distributes 20,000 copies throughout the Miami-Dade and Broward County area.  The magazine debuted in March.
 

New Florida epicurean magazine

October 25, 2007 - FLORIDA TABLE "showcases the state's culinary delights," offering articles on indigenous dishes, local favorite recipes, dining and entertainment, wine and spirits, celebrity chefs, and culinary road trips.

Marie Speed is editor of this quarterly JES Publishing magazine, sister title to BOCA RATON magazine. The magazine debuted in February and has a circulation of 33,000 copies.
 

Parade expands with pullout sections

October 25, 2007 - SELECTS is a single-topic pullout section packaged with PARADE, the Sunday supplement found in over 400 newspapers nationwide.  The first SELECTS appeared October 14 and reported on healthy homes.

The editorial team at PARADE is planning a digital home edition for November 18 and five more SELECTS for 2008, with possible topics such as automotive, personal finance, corporate branding, healthcare, packaged goods, technology, holiday shopping, or family.

BOND ALTERNATIVE WEDDING MAGAZINE assists the modern urban couple, whether straight, gay, or multi-ethnic, personalize their non-traditional wedding with fashion and wedding ideas. The quarterly publication, from Avanti Ragazzi Publishing, debuted with the Spring/Summer issue and is distributed internationally.
AMERICAN HERITAGE, which ceased publication in April, has been purchased by American Heritage Media/Edwin Grosvenor. John F. Ross is the new managing editor and the magazine is expected to resume publication with the December/January issue.
CARDIOVASCULAR BUSINESS “addresses issues vital to patient, practice and technology management,” including business analysis. Leslie Anderson is managing editor of this bi-monthly TriMed Media Group magazine, which debuted with the October/November issue. 20,000 copies are distributed to qualified cardiology chiefs, directors, specialists and lab administrators.
 

Golf magazine planned

October 24, 2007 - TEE IT UP MAGAZINE, an expansion of the Tee It Up Show (TV), will offer golf-centric interviews, profiles, destination and equipment reviews, professional tours, and instruction. In addition, luxury lifestyles will be covered, including travel, spas, food, wine and spirits, fashion, electronics, vacation home, and cars.

The publication is a partnership between Fourteenth Colony Productions and Simply Brilliant Publishing.  The debut issue is expected in spring 2008 and five issues per year are planned.  Distribution will be throughout Southern California at select newsstands, golf courses and resorts, as well as by subscription.
 

Midwest boomers audience for new magazine  

October 24, 2007 - BOOMER offers the baby boomer generation articles on family, home, money, arts and entertainment, sports, health and fitness, and travel. The focus is on inspiring readers to "lead enriched, educated, purposeful lives by immersing you in fresh, insightful stories and articles.

Todd Yearack is editor of this quarterly magazine, which launched with the Fall 2007 issue. Distribution of 100,000 copies is to baby boomer homeowners in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee, as well as in grocery, book, and convenience stores throughout this Midwest region.
  

Regional shelter magazine continues to grow

October 24, 2007 - THE MODERN ESTATE targets affluent residents in the greater New York City area, including Fairfield and Litchfield counties in Connecticut; Westchester County and Suffolk County (the Hamptons) in New York; Manhattan; and select areas of New Jersey.  Topics explore "the architectural styles of the most notable homes in the area and offers detailed counsel—the specifics—on how to make these houses and grounds visually striking as well as efficient and easy to manage."

Linda Donnelly is editor-in-chief of this quarterly magazine, which premiered with the Fall 2006 issue.  30,000 copies are distributed: 50 percent to households with homes valued over three million and the remainder through national bookstores, area newsstands, and by subscription.
 

Car enthusiast magazine starts up in California

October 19, 2007 – VELOCITY is for car buffs in Orange County, CA. Articles provide information about muscle cars, hot rods and street rods, exotic autos, men’s lifestyle, events, and profiles.

Publisher David Threshie is at the helm of this bi-monthly magazine, which debuts with the October/November issue. 25,000 copies are distributed by subscription, to affluent households, and in car-related businesses.
 

Women’s magazine combines religion and motivation

October 19, 2007 – SIBYL offers 30- to 65-year-old women articles on “spiritual enlightenment, personal growth and guidance.”

The quarterly Sibella’s Circle International title debuted in August with a distribution of 10,000 copies throughout western North and South Carolina.

THE DRIFT is for female snowboarding athletes interested in “what to buy, where to go, and how to make the most of toady’s snowboarding culture.”  The bi-annual magazine is a sister title to FUTURE SNOWBOARDING MAGAZINE.

  COLLEGEPRENEUR is a business and leadership magazine for college students.  Topics include “insights on leadership, financial literacy, networking and mentoring.”  Fran Harris of Fran Harris Enterprises is directing this new magazine, which debuts with the Fall issue in November and then will publish quarterly in 2008.  Distribution is through subscriptions and college bookstores.

 TRI-COUNTY SCENE is for the residents in and near Cordele/Crisp County, GA.  The emphasis is on “stories about things that are going on in the area.”  Published by the Cordele Dispatch, the magazine expects to debut in December and publish quarterly in 2008.  Distribution is through area business locations, subscriptions, and at the Dispatch office.

  GREEN PRODUCTS AND TECHNOLOGY focuses on green building and sustainable design, important issues for builders, remodelers, and architects.  Content ranges from best practices to case studios and product showcases.  Jean Dimeo and Rich Schwolsky, both with parent company Hanley Wood, will direct the editorial content.  The quarterly title debuts in February.
 

Regional amateur sports magazine debuts

October 18, 2007 - MANITOBA SCORE reports on all aspects of amateur, high school and university sports in Manitoba, Canada.  The target audience consists of 16- to 30-year-old athletes, coaches, physical education teachers, sports administrators, and fans.

Scott Taylor is editor of this monthly magazine, which launches this month with a circulation of 10,000 copies.

New magazine addresses children's ministry ideas

October 18, 2007 - K! MAGAZINE is for vocational children’s ministers and volunteers in children’s ministry who are interested in articles about expanding communication with children, new and cutting-edge technology, profiles of church accomplishments, and resources.

Senior editor Ryan Frank oversees this bi-monthly publication from KidzMatter.  The debut January/February issue will have a distribution of 10,000 copies.
 

Healthcare magazine to address aging

October 18, 2007 - AGING WELL is for healthcare professionals in the field of aging.  Topics will explore "the physical, psychological, social, financial and legal challenges and opportunities in the lives of aging clients" with articles ranging from training, family care giving, and long-term concerns to cultural diversity, elder abuse, housing options, and nutrition.

Arn Bernstein is editor of this quarterly magazine, which is set to launch with the Winter 2008 issue.  Published by great Valley Publishing Company, 30,000 copies will be distributed nationally to healthcare professionals.
 

Regional Virginia magazine covers area lifestyle

October 16, 2007 - NEW RIVER VALLEY presents articles on parenting, homeowner projects, new businesses, entertainment, local adventures and places to visit, local and county initiatives, recipes, and events.  The magazine serves the communities of Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Radford, Dublin, and Pulaski, VA.

Publisher Phillip Vaught is at the helm of this bi-monthly publication, which debuted in November 2006.  12,000 copies are distributed by subscription and on local newsstands.

October 16, 2007 - WORLD ART GLASS QUARTERLY is for galleries, art consultants, and designers and architects that are using glass in their work.  Articles focus on showcasing glass artisans, museums, galleries, glass companies, and master craftsmen.

ARTCADE MAGAZINE reports on the Washington, D.C. arts and culture scene, with a focus on the city's visual culture. Articles offer interviews, reviews, perspectives, gallery updates, and events.
RANCHWORLDADS MAGAZINE "features articles on ranching, custom bit/spur/saddle makers, Internet marketing, stock dogs, and cattle and horses." Gerard Thomas is at the helm of this quarterly publication, which debuted with the Spring 2007 issue. It is distributed to tack, feed, and saddle stores throughout the western U.S.
 

Healthy lifestyle magazine for women

October 11, 2007 - WELLNESS MAGAZINE wants to "improve people's health by making wellness a part of their everyday schedules." Topics range from nutrition and fitness to preventative practices and achieving a stress-free lifestyle, targeting 26- to 54-year-old women.

Publisher Anna Dziugiel oversees this monthly Brawo Press publication, which debuted in December 2006. The magazine is distributed on newsstands

URBAN VELO targets the serious metropolitan bicycle rider, including athletes, messengers, and daily commuters.  Brad Quartuccio is editor of this bi-monthly magazine, which debuted with the May 2007 issue and distributes 1,000 copies to bike retailers.
PORTLAND SPACES is about "designing the places where we live, work, play and socialize."  Content includes creating spaces, balancing sustainability, elegance, and value, and budgeting.  Randy Gragg oversees this bi-monthly magazine, which is set to debut in January.

October 9, 2007 - TERRAMARIN is a local guide and resource for the residents of Marin County, CA who want to make conscious choices about living green, clean, and healthy lives.

Karen Peterson is editor of the quarterly JeraOne Publishing title, which launched with the August/October issue.  6,500 copies were distributed to area bookstores and groceries.
 

Food magazine enters third market

October 9, 2007 - CULINARY CONCIERGE has recently launched its Dallas/Fort Worth edition, offering an opportunity "for local food journalists to share bits of history, ingredients, recipes, people, and pleasure."  The first editions came out in New Orleans and Emerald Coast, FL.

Catherine Collins is managing editor of this quarterly Culinary Concierge Multi-Market Media magazine.  50,000 copies are distributed in area bookstores, newsstands, upscale hotels, and by subscription.  The debut issue came out in late August.
 

New Canadian magazine for young lawyers

October 9, 2007 - PRECEDENT mixes law and lifestyle, offering features on legal news, gossip, profiles, and fashion and style.

Melissa Kluger is editor of this quarterly Law and Style Media publication, which debuts October 19. 10,000 copies will be mailed to Toronto lawyers and is available by subscription.

Topics include "arts, dining, entertainment, and sports activities." In addition, day trips, trends, gardening and home interior design, and local personality profiles will be featured.

Josh Phillips is editor-in-chief of this bi-monthly Phillips Media Group magazine, which is scheduled to debut in January. Distribution is through area retail shops and businesses.

ZOOM-ZOOM, is a new global customer magazine from Mazda. A partnership with London publisher, Redwood Custom Communications, resulted in the debut of a 1.5 million-circulation title in five languages to eight countries, including the U.S. and Canada.
KIDS X-PRESS is by and for children and covers pertinent issues such as violence, fashion, and family. Publisher Nivia Viera compiles submitted material for the quarterly magazine, which distributes 32,500 copies from White Plains, NY to New York City.
MIDWEST STYLERS is a hairstyle magazine featuring stylists and salons from Chicago and surrounding areas. Danita Northern oversees the publication, which debuted in July with a distribution of 5,000 copies to beauty supply stores nationwide. Publishing frequency may increase to three issues per year in the future.
 

Magazine for serious collectors debuts

October 2, 2007 - HERITAGE is for active and affluent collectors interested in "Hollywood and sports memorabilia, White House mementos, and Civil War collectibles." Topics range from art and jewelry to coins and posters, and includes auction previews.

The quarterly magazine, published by Heritage Auction Galleries, debuted with the Fall 2007 issue and has a controlled circulation of 50,000 copies.
 

New magazine for magazine publishing business

October 2, 2007 - [FPO] is "dedicated to publication design, editorial and production" issues. Content includes interviews with industry producers, how-to articles for producing a better publication, new design and redesign critique, and reviews of new typefaces, publishing hardware and software, and online resources.
