New indie food magazine has launched

October 28, 2004 - CHOW is a new magazine for people "who love food, drink and fun - and think all three belong together." Founder and editor Jane Goldman feels that most magazines about food have become "sanctimonious" and boring and promises that Chow will be "a tolling bell of a food revolution." The premiere issue is now on the newsstands and the website is at http://www.chowmag.com.

New environmental magazine to come in November

October 26, 2004 - The new PLENTY magazine promises that, despite rumors of dwindling natural resources, we can live in a world of plenty—if we are smart.  Dedicated to educate a growing market of environmentally conscious consumers.  Plenty will hit the newsstands on Nov 16. The magazine will publish six times in 2005 with a rate base of 100,000 and distribution to upscale bookstores, airports, and college campuses.  Mark Spellun is editor and publisher and their website is at http://www.plentymag.com. Silicon Valley to get its own magazine

October 26, 2004 - The northern California area dubbed Silicon Valley may be a state of mind more than a geographical area, but there is still a new magazine for its residents, businesses and visitors. To make it different from other local magazines, the publisher promises to "illustrate the tremendous impact that our region has on the nation and the world." Their website is at http://www.sv-mag.com.  Need to keep up-to-date on magazine news? New golf and luxury lifestyle magazine to launch

October 18, 2004 - GOLF CONNOISSEUR is coming this December from publisher Riggs-Heinrich Media.  It is pitched as the world's most prestigious golf, luxury, and lifestyle magazine - covering the good life both on and off the course.  The first issue will be distributed to top country clubs, in VIP lounges of selected airlines and in social clubs, hotels, casinos, and resorts. To get further issues, prospects will have to submit written requests.  The publisher plan an intial circulation of 235,000. New magazine for today's modern family

October 14, 2004 - Families of today are different and this new quarterly promises to reflect this.  Founer, publisher and editor Keki Mingus of VIOLET magazine will try to appeal to mothers, fathers and families of all kinds - gay, straight and multi-racial with a mix of fashion, music, film and lifestyle stories. The magazine is available in book stores across the country.  The newsstand price is $4.95.
