November 29, 2007 - LA TAILS and CITY TAILS join 12 other regional editions of the TAILS family of publications, which began in 2000 with the CHICAGOLAND TAILS magazine. Topics range from responsible pet guardianship and awareness of animals, to respect for pet companions and providing community solutions and empowerment.
Rebecca Hallmark has been named regional publisher of LA TAILS and Lorranine Sakli joins as regional publisher of CITY TAILS. Both magazines debut with the December/January issue and will publish 11 issues per year. 675,000 copies are distributed between the 14 editions and can be found in pet-related businesses, bookstores, coffee shops and libraries.
November 29, 2007 - CANTEEN is a literary magazine that aims to engage readers with both the arts and the creative process. "We admire what writers and artists do, and we want insight into how and why it’s done." The represented arts include essays, poetry, paintings, and photography.
Sean Finney is editor-in-chief of this quarterly publication, which recently launched Issue One. Distribution is through subscription and independent bookstores located in New York and California.
November 29, 2007 - LIVING CRAFTS is for cultural creative families who value handcrafted projects that use natural and organic materials derived from sustainable and recycled materials. Projects and content offers suggestions and directions for making toys, apparel, home items, gifts, and seasonal crafts.
Pardis Amirshahi is editor of this quarterly magazine, which debuted with the Winter 2008 issue and distributes a combined 25,000 copies through newsstands, subscriptions, and trade/event shows.

• VIRTUALIZATION REVIEW addresses issues about virtualization technologies, products, news and solutions as “a way to make all aspects of IT vastly more efficient.” Doug Barney is editor-in-chief of this 1105 Media magazine, which is expected to debut in March 2008 and targets senior-level administration for large organizations.
• SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN BODY is the newest addition to the SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN brand. The emphasis is on the "science behind health and wellness with an emphasis on health (and not disease)." Topics include physical and mental health, aging, environment, and green education. The debut issue will be on newsstands December 4 and followed by the website debut on December 12.
• N.E. FLORIDA QUARTERLY magazine targets the affluent residents in St. Augustine, Palm Coast, Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Ponce Inlet, Longwood, and Orlando. Kay Yabandith is editor of this City Quarterly Media Group publication, which debuted with the Fall 2007 issue.
• HIGH PERFORMING BUILDINGS is for building owners, facility managers, architects and engineers interested in case studies that demonstrate measured building performance, as well as innovative technology news and energy-efficient design and operation. The quarterly magazine is published by ASHRAE.
• TEXAS DIVERSITY MAGAZINE will feature articles on the benefits of diversity and the impact on business performance, and targets business professionals, educators, students, government and nonprofits. Publisher Dennis Kennedy is at the helm of this tri-annual publication, which debuts in early 2008 with the January/April issue. • LOCUS is focused on providing “a forum for local, emerging producers of culture” in the vicinity of Baltimore, MD. Emily Hunter is editor-in-chief of this quarterly magazine, which debuted with the Fall 2006 issue and is distributed by subscription and through independent bookstores in the area.
November 27, 2007 - THE COUNTER TERRORIST will be delivering reports on cutting-edge anti-terror information and feature breaking news. Subjects range from homeland security and intelligence to specialized products and advanced technologies. The magazine will take a global focus and targets first responders.
The quarterly magazine, published by Security Solutions International, is due out in early 2008 and will have an initial distribution of 100,000 copies.

• CIRCULATION is the main name of six new subspecialty cardiology journals planned for 2008. CIRCULATION: HEART FAILURE, CIRCULATION: CARDIOVASCULAR OUTCOMES AND QUALITY, and CIRCULATION: ARRHYTHMIA AND ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY are due out in spring 2008. CIRCULATION: CARDIOVASCULAR GENETICS, CIRCULATION: CARDIOVASCULAR IMAGING and CIRCULATION: CARDIOVASCULAR INTERVENTIONS are planned for later in 2008. • HOME GYM offers training tips, equipment and gear reviews, and other articles on achieving fitness goals at home. The quarterly magazine debuted with the Fall 2007 issue, is published by Flora Publishing Group, and is distributed by subscription and in bookstores throughout the eastern U.S.
• REDEFINE is a “music and art magazine featuring independent, unsigned artists.” Topics include indie music, visual arts, artist galleries, and independent film reviews. Started in 2004 as an online/west coast print publication, the title has secured a national newsstand distribution deal beginning with the Fall 2007 issue and will publish quarterly.
November 15, 2007 - SUCCESS, which ceased print publication earlier this year, will be targeting well-educated professionals between 30 and 55 when it relaunches. Topics include business, relationships, wealth, well-being and "making a difference.
Darren Hardy has been chosen as the publisher and editorial director by the new owner, VideoPlus, for the March 2008 debut. The bi-monthly magazine will distribute 100,000 copies nationwide.
November 15, 2007 - MOUNTAIN TIME is a lifestyle magazine for the country’s most affluent mountain retreat communities. Content includes editorial features, local events, social gatherings, and celebrity sightings.
The bi-weekly magazine, from MountainTime Media, will be distributed in 20 daily newspapers from Squaw Valley to Aspen, with a total circulation of approximately 180,000 copies. The debut issue is set for December 15.
November 15, 2007 - SOUTHERN BEAUTY is for "any woman who is attracted to a lifestyle of everyday elegance and inner beauty." The target audience is "educated, professional females between the ages of 25 and 49." Articles, trends, and product reviews are defined by four key areas: face, hair, body, and soul.
Publisher Shannon Lindsay heads up this bi-monthly magazine, which debuted with the October issue. Current distribution is by subscription; a nationwide newsstand launch in March 2008 is planned.

• SIMPLE GIFTS MAGAZINE “offers inspiration for family-centered living.” Articles focus on “content with a Catholic flavor,” with topics ranging from homemaking, hospitality, and gardening, to family activities, travel, discovery, and family-owned businesses. Nissa Gadbois is editor of this quarterly Partridge Hill Media magazine, which is distributed by subscription.
• NEW HEIGHTS targets the residents and business owners in Tampa, FL and the surrounding urban area with news about the revitalization of the collective community. November 15, 2007 - DULUTH-SUPERIOR MAGAZINE targets the residents of St. Louis, Carlton and Douglas counties in Minnesota. Stories will revolve around "the arts scene, restaurants, recipes, outdoor activities, fashion, and health."
Marti Buscaglia oversees the monthly publication, which is set to debut in February with a circulation of 20,000 copies.

• HOME & STYLE is a new western Canadian magazine that will publish separate themes for each issue. Example topics include yachting and fine autos. Greg Bobolo oversees this publication, which will publish eight issues per year and distribute 30,000 copies “through a mix of controlled and paid circulation.”
• PHOTOSHO is a Canadian magazine connecting photographers from all areas of the country to feature both themed and individual portfolios of semi-pro photographers. Published by Light Leaks Press in Ottawa, Ontario, and led by owner/publisher Rachel Morris, the second issue will be followed next year by a quarterly distribution through subscriptions and on newsstands.
• BRICKJOURNAL, the ultimate resource for LEGO enthusiasts, will make its print debut in February 2008 following two years of digital publication. The quarterly magazine, created and edited by Joe Meno of TwoMorrows Publishing, will be distributed in bookstores and on newsstands nationwide.
November 13, 2007 - CHOSEN chronicles the city, community, and lifestyle of Jewish people in and around Phoenix, AZ. The focus is on "many cultural and lifestyle matters, including food and dining, plus music, new products and entertainment calendar. • SHARP is an entertainment publication for northeast Pennsylvania. “Editorial coverage will include movie and DVD reviews, local band profiles, an arts column and concert information.” Published by the Pocono Record, the weekly newspaper supplement is also available at area newsstands and entertainment spots.
