A Linux magazine for end-users to come

November 29, 2004 - TUX, a new magazine from the publishers of LINUX MAGAZINE, is a spin-off of editor-in-chief Marcel Gagne's "Cooking with Linux" column in the parent magazine.  Marcel is planning a friendly, jargon-free style, non-threatening to average computer users.  The magazine should be useful for home, office, and enterprise users, including knowledge workers. The magazine's website is at http://www.tuxmagazine.com. You get much more magazine news in our newsletter. New magazine from SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN

NY City local bands get their own magazine

November 29, 2004 - THE DELI, a new magazine focused on the New York City music scene, will launch on December 2nd.  It will focus on the underground rock, pop and folk bands that play in the cityís bars, clubs and concerts, and the studios, producers, promoters, equipment retailers and manufacturers who help bring the NYC indie sound to the wider public.  The magazine will be made available free of charge at music-oriented locations across the city.  Founder and editor-in-chief is Paolo De Gregorio and their website is at http://www.thedelimagazine.com.  You get much more magazine news in our newsletter. Women's sport magazine to come

November 11, 2004 - This is an online publication that's going print in the early spring of 2005.  SPORTING WOMAN QUARTERLY will feature highlights of women's luxury sporting events, including polo and equestrian events, golf and tennis.  Seasonal selections for sport and fitness resorts, travel, dining and accomodations will also be showcased in the quarterly among its behind-the-scenes interviews and sports features.  It will launch with an initial rate base of 400,000.  The editor-in-chief is not yet announced but the website is at http://www.sportingwomanquarterly.com.

Nondenominational Christian magazine launched in the High Plains region

New MY HOUSE magazines start in the Rocky Mountains

November 1, 2004 - MY HOUSE IN THE MOUNTAIN STATES is the first in a series of shelter magazines planned by McGraw-Hill.  The series will consist of regional magazines serving both high-end homeowners and the design and building professionals, who "bring their dreams to life.  "The magazines aim to bridge the "shelter" and "builder" media categories by serving all of the important decision-makers in a homebuilding or renovation project:  the homeowner, the architect, the homebuilder and the interior designer.
