Tracks, a new music magazine, is launching

November 10, 2003 - Tracks, a new independent music magazine from former Spin editor-in-chief Alan Light debuts on Nov. 18.

The quarterly title targets music fans over 30 in a business dominated by youth.

With a guaranteed initial rate base of 100,000, the pub will be competing with Rolling Stone, Blender, Entertainment Weekly and other independents such as Fader.

Long-awaited Hallmark magazine to test

McDonald's Relax to test

Nov 4, 2003 - The fast food distributor, McDonald's, has hired Time Inc's custom publishing unit to produce its first-ever special mini magazine, Relax.

The title will be distributed for free with "Brother Bear Happy Meals" for the month of November 2003. Aimed at parents, the 40-page, digest-sized magazine features abridged articles from Time Inc titles like Parenting and People.

Another shopping magazine launches

Nov 3, 2003 - Best, a shopping magazine "focused on the products and experiences that embrace an upscale lifestyle," will be on the newsstands Nov 6. Read more

Supermarkets won't display The Globe

November 3, 2003 - Colorado supermarkets will either not sell the tabloid The Globe or not display it prominently in the front of the stores after the magazine printed the name of the woman accusing basketbasll star Kobe Bryant of raping her. Read more
