New business magazine for luxury hotel market

January 25, 2007 - LUXURY HOTELIER "will meet the needs of corporate and management level individuals at high-end branded hotels globally and focus on properties and individuals in the market, the specific needs of those owning and operating such facilities and how to achieve success."

Matt Waddell is publisher of this Questex Media magazine, publisher of sister titles HOTEL & MOTEL MANAGEMENT and HOTEL DESIGNS.  Two issues will be published in 2007; the first due out in September.  The publishing frequency will increase to monthly in 2008.  An initial controlled circulation of 10,000 copies is expected.
 

New business magazine for Triangle area women

January 25, 2007 - WOMEN'S EDGE targets Raleigh/Durham business women who are focused on their professional development and need to ease busy lifestyles.  The subtitle is "Where Triangle Professionals Unite, Collaborate and Achieve."  Articles will include "travel tips to the latest trends in business development and leadership profiles."

Slee Arnold is the publisher of this monthly magazine, which will debut with the April issue.  Additional information was not immediately available.
 

Regional woman's magazine launches

January 25, 2007 - PREROGATIVE is for women in the southern West Virginia to southwest Virginia region.  Topics include fashion, food, fitness, home, health, nutrition, style, and trends.  Articles seek to be useful, entertain, empower, inform, and be relevant to area women.

Samantha Perry is editorial director of this quarterly magazine being published by the Bluefield Daily Telegraph.  The debut Spring 2007 issue is available on newsstands, at selected retail stores, and by subscription.
 

New teen magazine targets emerging market

January 25, 2007 - MUSLIM GIRL is aimed at Muslim teenage girls in the U.S. Features include the standard line-up of dating, relationships, and fashion and accessories coverage, but with a more conservative or traditional viewpoint.  In addition, "the magazine aspires to a higher intellectual caliber" and includes coverage on the Q'uran and volunteer work.

Ausma Khan is editor-in-chief of this bi-monthly magazine, which debuted with the January/February 2007 issue and is published by ExecuGo Media.  Distribution is by subscription and on newsstands.  The title anticipates a nationwide circulation of 50,000.
 

Upscale men's magazine launches

January 25, 2007 - SE7EN is a new lifestyle magazine targeting sophisticated and affluent men.  Topic coverage includes gaming, sports, entertainment, fashion, automobiles, and food and dining.

Amanda Daniels and Michael Caselli are editors of this Bluff Media publication.  100,000 copies will be distributed nationally.  Additional information was not immediately available.

Southern hip-hop and more to be chronicled

January 22, 2007 - STATIS MAGAZINE will "depict artists of all kind, from rappers to producers to DJ's to photographers."  Topics include music, fashion, new technology, lifestyle, and the status associated with an artist's life.  The tone is uncensored, raw, and straight-to-the-point.

Erica Dickens is editor of the bi-monthly publication, which is due out on magazine stands in February.  Additional information was not immediately available.
 

New woman's magazine being planned

January 22, 2007 - COCKTAIL WEEKLY is aimed at 20-something-year-olds interested in celebrity news, relationship advice, health topics, and fashion and beauty features.

Maria Lissandrello has been named editor-in-chief of this weekly magazine from Bauer Publishing.  The debut issue is due out on newsstands September 21.
 

Regional Virginia magazine launches

January 19, 2007 - THE NEW DOMINION is interested in politics, society and pop culture for the central VA region that extends from Lexington to Winchester and Charlottesville to Monterey.

Chris Graham is editor of this quarterly publication, which debuted this month and is being distributed at area booksellers.  Future plans include the possibility of state-wide coverage.  Additional information was not immediately available.
 

New preschool magazine from National Geographic

January 19, 2007 - NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC LITTLE KIDS is targeted at children ages 3-6.  This teaching tool is all about getting a head start into reading, logical reasoning, counting, and cultural awareness.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS' editor-in-chief Melinda Bellows will oversee this bi-monthly publication.  Distribution is by subscription and on newsstands.  The magazine will debut with the March/April issue some time in February.
 

Women represented in new regional business magazine

January 19, 2007 - WOMEN IN THE TRIANGLE will "highlight the successes and challenges of working women in the region," which corresponds to the area between Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, NC. Topics will include work and personal life balance, health and fitness, networking, travel, entertainment, and achievements.

Danielle Jackson is editor of this quarterly Business Leader Media magazine.  The debut March issue will be distributed by subscription.

January 17, 2007 - EAST OF 75 refers to the 25 counties that are intersected or lay east of Highway 75 in eastern Tennessee.  The magazine's focus is on being a "get-to-know you" publication, with coverage that ranges from lifestyle, home and community spotlights, to history, travel, and local flavor.

Film magazine launched

January 17, 2007 - CAUGHT IN THE ACT is all about the Austin, TX film and theater productions scene.  Topics include current and upcoming show business events as well as how area people can get involved.

Corey Burke is editor of this magazine, which debuted January 16. Distribution is at local businesses in the film and entertainment industry. Additional information was not immediately available.
 

New lifestyle magazine to chronicle Lake Erie region

January 17, 2007 - LAKE ERIE LIVING has a subtitle of "Good Life on a Great Lake" and will focus on the area's history, shopping, coastal communities, travel destinations, events, and people.

Sharon Doddroe is editor of this bi-monthly magazine from Long Point Media.  Distribution will be by subscription and available at area businesses.  The debut issue is planned for April.
 

New magazine planned for high-rise dwellers

January 17, 2007 - LIVE IT UP! is all about high-tech living, luxury amenities, and posh high-rise residencies.  The target audience resides in New York, South Florida, ski areas, and Las Vegas.  Article styles include features, tips, and interviews.

Veronica Esbona is editor-in-chief of this bi-annual magazine, published by Marketing Matters for Vertical Integrations Group, which will debut in June.  Distribution of 30,000 copies will be at upscale spas, resorts, hotels, developers, and retailers.

Regional Canadian magazine for younger audience

January 17, 2007 - FRESH. MAGAZINE is by and for 15- to 29-year-olds in the Sault Ste. Marie area of Ontario, Canada.  There is an active call for feature articles from age-appropriate residents on topics including arts and culture, outdoor life and recreation, politics, education, technology and gaming, health, and youth on the rise. In addition, reviews of youth art and area restaurants, movies, music and date spots are being accepted.

The inaugural issue will appear in area locations on March 28, with a distribution of 5,000 copies.  A second issue is due out on April 25, which will be followed by a bi-monthly publication schedule.  The magazine is published in partnership with the Sault Youth Council, Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology and Service Canada.  The website is http://saultyouth.com/.

New regional magazine for seniors

January 17, 2007 - TALLAHASSEE'S BOOMERS & SENIORS is geared towards residents over 40-years-old who are seeking practical tools and creating adventure in the following topics: money, finance, work, retirement, health, fitness, food and travel.

Kerensa Haney is editor of this bimonthly publication, which launched with the October/November 2006 issue.  15,000 copies are distributed by direct mail, on newsstands, by subscription and at area businesses.
 

Regional home guide launches

January 11, 2007 - MEMPHIS MID-SOUTH NEW HOMES GUIDE "will focus on new home subdivisions in Shelby, Fayette and Tipton counties in Tennessee; Crittenden County in Arkansas; and Northwest Mississippi."  Content will include "industry news, new neighborhood directories, and information on building products and financing."

Lisa Montgomery oversees this bi-monthly publication from Metro Marketing, publishers of sister title MEMPHIS WOMAN MAGAZINE.  The publication debuts this month.

New regional magazine for Los Angeles planned

January 11, 2007 - REALTALK LA will embrace the multicultural diversity of the LA area and cover creative, fashion, design, business, social change, health, political, academic, psychological, spiritual, scientific, philanthropic, lifestyle, and personal and career growth topics.  The article tone is sophisticated and street smart.

Jay Levin, founder of sister title LA WEEKLY, will oversee this publication, which is due to launch in April.  One half of the circulation (undefined) will be mailed to select homes in the area.  Publication frequency and additional distribution information was not immediately available.
 

Boutique magazine for St. Louis

January 11, 2007 - 52ND CITY magazine is a themed look at all things relating to St. Louis with a "distinct river-city flavor."  Content is a mix of literary essays and poems but does not neglect city magazine-style editorials.

Co-editors Andrea Avery, Thomas Crone, and Stefene Russell oversee this quarterly publication, which to date has an area distribution of 600 copies, but is growing with each edition.  The debut issue came out in April 2006. The magazine's website is http://www.52ndcity.com.
 

Mini magazine for upscale restaurant

January 11, 2007 - BLT LIVING is a new magazine reporting on everything associated with the many restaurants of Bistro Laurent Tourondel (BLT). Topics include new openings, chef's tips, celebrity visitors, and recipes. This 18-page publication is designed to offer restaurant customers editorial content while providing a marketing tool for the restaurants and luxury product advertisers.

The quarterly title is published by Haute Life Press, a company that is actively working on CONVIVIO (for NY restaurants Alto and L'Impero) and may soon be publishing similar titles for other upscale restaurants in New York, California, Miami, and Chicago.

January 5, 2007 - DOMAINER'S MAGAZINE "will focus on the value of Pay Per Click management, SEO, domain legal expertise, domain acquisition and selling, domain monetization and any other topic that focuses on emerging technologies and services that provides value."  Other topics include useful tools and hardware reviews.

New magazine to serve mechanized skiing and snowboarding industry

January 5, 2007 - THE HELISKI CATSKI JOURNAL is a new resource guide for people interested in helicopter and snowcat skiing opportunities. Topics will include North American operation centers, gear, machines, profiles, traditions, and knowledge.

The quarterly publication, under the direction of publisher Gard Skinner, is a collaboration between Skinner Media and Heli-Ski US, The United States Snowcat Ski Association, and Helicat Canada.  Distribution is by subscription and in select outlets.
