January 31, 2006 - GLOBAL SERVICES targets an audience from CIOs to business analysts seeking information on harnessing global sourcing needs. Content includes business processing outsourcing, IT outsourcing, customer service, global business operations, technology reports and research-based studies.

Rusty Weston is editor-in-chief of this monthly publication from CMP Media.  The magazine debuts with its February issue and the ratebase is 41,000.

January 31, 2006 - Professionals who market themselves on search engines will soon have a new magazine dedicated to the industry: SEARCH MARKETING STANDARD.  Coverage includes profiles, tools and services, and news and trends in pay per click advertising, search engine optimization, web analytics, click fraud, and local and contextual search.

Andrey Milyan is editor-in-chief of this quarterly publication, which will debut its Summer issue in May. The initial circulation is 15,000.
 

Regional Portland magazine launches

January 30, 2006 - PDX MAGAZINE covers the broad spectrum of lifestyle, arts, and culture in Portland, OR.  The website is http://www.pdxmagazine.com.

Liz Hummer is editor of the monthly publication, which debuted in October.  Distribution is to local entertainment and lodging businesses, boutiques, college campuses, bookstores and healthcare offices.  Currently, 20,000 copies are printed.
 

New magazine for Midwest GLBT community

January 30, 2006 - STANDOUT MAGAZINE is being created for a gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender audience in the Midwest states of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri. Editorial content includes in-depth looks at hot topics and relevant issues, as well as the latest in entertainment and profiles of people creating positive changes and perceptions in the community.

Publisher Kim Campbell oversees the monthly publication, due to launch this March. Distribution is through GLBT-friendly restaurants, nightclubs, retail stores, community organizations, and by subscription.
 

Another magazine for Sacramento lifestyle

January 30, 2006 - "City-dwellers in Sacramento's emerging urban core" are the target audience of a new magazine pulling its first issue together: SACRAMENTO LIFE & STYLE.  Content will include topical reports on social, political and cultural issues, business and industry profiles, local fiction, and pop culture information.

The monthly magazine will debut in May and is published by Sierrastyle Publishing Inc. Distribution is by paid subscription and to area retail outlets, with an initial print run of 70,000 copies.
 

Online gossip goes glossy

January 25, 2006 - A print version of the online New York Post Page Six column is being prepared for launch.  Topics include New York nightlife, coverage of high-profile company and industry events in fashion and entertainment, as well as gossip.

Richard Johnson is overseeing the process, with the debut issue due out February 9.  The publication frequency was not immediately known.  The magazine will be shipped with the newspaper.

BassFan LLC expands into print media

January 24, 2006 - BASSFAN MAG is getting its first print edition ready, with a debut date sometime in February. Content includes anything related to tour-level professional bass fishing.

Published by BassFan LLC, the magazine will be available at select retail tackle stores and by subscription. The website is http://www.bassfan.com.
 

Regional lifestyle publication debuts

January 23, 2006 - Women in the north-central Indiana counties of Wabash and Miami are the target audience of REAL WOMAN magazine.  Each feature article profiles a local women in an unusual or interesting occupation.  Additional topics include spiritual and physical health, teenage girls, senior women who contribute to their community, and lifestyle articles "under 40 & over 40."

Sheila Rhoades is editor of this quarterly publication that will debut Friday, January 27. Published by The Plain Dealer, the magazine will also be inserted into the Peru Tribune. The estimated readership is 13,000.
 

Mature Hawaiians target of new magazine

January 18, 2006 - GENERATIONS HAWAII is aimed at Hawaii's maturing population, specifically those over 50.  Editorial coverage will focus on seniors excelling in a chosen pursuit, financial matters, health issues, computer use, classes of interest, and "homefront" tidbits.

Cheryl Chee Tsutsumi is editor of this bimonthly title due to launch on February 9. The initial press run will be 20,000 copies and distributed to Oahu libraries, recreation centers, retirement communities, and area drug stores.
 

Child's first year chronicled

January 18, 2006 - NEW FAMILY, FIRST YEAR GUIDE will offer practical advice "facing new parents in the first year after giving birth to a child."

Marian Edelman Borden is editor-in-chief of this quarterly GiftPax Media publication.  The annual controlled circulation is 3.6 million and distribution will be nationwide to hospitals and birthing centers.  The exact launch date was not immediately available.
 

Podcasting topics put into print

January 17, 2006 - "Coverage about all things podcasting" is the focus of a new magazine, ID3 PODCAST MAGAZINE.  Editorial content will include features, trends, profiles, tips, equipment and software reviews, and industry news and analysis.

Kristopher Smith and Todd Andrlik are co-editors-in-chief of this bimonthly title scheduled to debut in May with the May/June issue.

January 17, 2006 - THE MECK, a new magazine covering the Charlotte, NC area, debuts tomorrow.  Content is a mix of informative and humorous looks at the past, present, and future.  Topics range from local business profiles to uplifting stories.

Sara Abrams oversees this quarterly title from Abrams Media Group, Inc.  Current distribution will be mainly to the southern area of the city.
 

Car auction chronicled

January 16, 2006 - The BARRETT-JACKSON EXPERIENCE is a new magazine following the events at the namesake's auction house.  Coverage includes hot collector cars, notable automobiles up for auction, savvy buying tips, and celebrity sightings.

The quarterly title is published by Primedia and the debut issue is on nationwide newsstands now.
 

Christian magazine offers encouragement

January 16, 2006 - BREATH OF GOD is targeted toward women "living abundantly in Christ."  Editorial content covers marriage, parenting, health and body, workplace faith, and discipleship.

Founders Levitica Watts and Latisha Lee are at the helm of this Atlanta, GA-based bimonthly magazine from Lee Publishing.  The premier January/February issue will debut shortly and is available by subscription.
 

Regional Georgia magazine debuts

January 16, 2006 - The southern most coastal town in Georgia, St. Marys, is the focus of a new publication, ST. MARYS MAGAZINE.  Editorial content will explore the area's history and the positive aspects of living there.

Publisher Barbara Ryan oversees the magazine, which will be published by Low Country Publishing twice this year and quarterly in 2007.  The debut issue is due out tomorrow at statewide tourism centers, local hotels, and a variety of business establishments.  The website is http://www.stmarysmagazine.com.
 

Comm protocol magazine debuts this month

January 13, 2006 - SIP MAGAZINE, which stands for Session Initiation Protocol, launched its debut January issue with coverage on service quality, interoperability, security and application deployment.  The target audience includes service providers, enterprise businesses, developers and VAR/resellers.

Editorial director Greg Galitzine oversees the bi-monthly magazine.  Publisher TMC reports 28,000 subscribers have signed up to date.  The website is http://www.sipmag.com.
 

Lifestyle magazine launches

January 12, 2006 - JOLIE, which is the French word for "pretty," is a lifestyle magazine for African American women.  The second issue has just been published and editorial content includes beauty, wellness, celebrities and fashion, as well as input from editor-at-large Vivica A. Fox.

New magazine for Las Vegas dog lovers

January 11, 2006 - LUCKY DOG MAGAZINE is getting its premier January/February issue ready for readers in Southern Nevada.  Topic content includes interviews, successful dog adoptions, trends in fashion and accessories, health tips from vets, pet-friendly destinations, helpful organizations, and upcoming events.

Michelle Danks is editor-in-chief of this bi-monthly publication going to press this Friday. 10,000 copies will be printed and distributed to local bookstores, pet-centric businesses, area eateries, and airport shops.
 

Magazine for grooms getting hitched

January 11, 2006 - TODAY'S GROOM is a new publication helping men on the threshold of marriage work out the details. Content includes wedding fashion, bachelor parties, fitness, basic responsibility guidelines, travel destinations, rings, and future financial considerations.

The quarterly magazine is overseen by William Easton and Jake Schraufnagel. Distribution is to local Minneapolis stores and by subscription, with the debut January issue due out next week.

January 10, 2006 - THE BROOKLYNITE debuted last spring, covering the politics of Brooklyn, NY.  Specific life and culture topics focus on area restaurants, music, events, shopping, and history.

Daniel Treiman is editor of this quarterly publication distributed by subscription and in area stores within Brooklyn's Brownstone Belt.  20,000 copies of the Spring 2006 issue are planned.
 

New publication for military veterans

January 10, 2006 - Military veterans transitioning to the civilian workplace now have an additional guidance choice: CIVILIAN JOB NEWS magazine. The editorial focus is practical and easy-to-understand advice for veterans and reservists alike.

The bi-monthly magazine, published by Bradley-Morris, Inc., debuts this month at 230 international military base transition offices and is expected to have an audience of 200,000 annually.  The website is http://www.civilianjobnews.com.
 

New hair care magazine

January 6, 2006 - SHEREESE HAIR & BEAUTY MAGAZINE is set to offer editorial content on hair maintenance, trends, and stylist education, as well as hair and beauty products, fitness, fashion, and celebrities, both in the salon chair and behind it.  The target audience is African American women 18- to 49-years-old.

Shereese Slate is editor-in-chief of this new monthly publication.  The title will be distributed by subscription and in major metropolitan area salons, bookstores and beauty schools.
 

Online film making resource goes to print

January 5, 2006 - An online resource for new and aspiring film and video makers is going to print with STUDENT FILMMAKERS magazine.  The goal is to educate and support students, educators and professionals with articles covering "new techniques, trends, technologies, and how-to's." The format will run from articles and interviews to reviews and photographs.

Newest poker magazine to enter market

January 4, 2006 - POKER LIFE is a mix of interviews and short segments on strategy, along with a wide range of coverage about celebrities, travel, entertainment, fashion and high-end possessions.

Michael Jacobson is editor of this new quarterly title published by Sobe Life LLC.  The magazine is available by subscription in the U.S. and Canada.  Ratebase information was not immediately available.
 

Local publication planned for Woody Creek

January 4, 2006 - THE WOODY CREEKER, a local publication that celebrates the oddities and richness of Woody Creek, CO, is getting ready to launch its first issue.  Content includes musings about local life, interviews, photographs, and poetry.

Anita Thompson, widow of Hunter S. Thompson, will co-edit the title.  An initial print run of 1,000 copies is planned with free distribution in the area.  The debut issue is expected some time in the next month.
