August 29, 2006 – Designer Isaac Mizrahi has put together ISAAC’S STYLE BOOK, a look at fashion, cooking, travel, and home décor. Articles include the how-to and do-it-yourself format

The bi-annual magazine debuted yesterday and is available by subscription or at participating boutiques in New York and Chicago. Additional information was not immediately available.

August 29, 2006 – VERDANT is all about incorporating green products and services into day-to-day life.  Articles are written to entertain and inform readers on accessible options.  Topics include design, art, fashion, products, travel, cooking, gardening and investments

Sharon Hoge is editor.  Published by Cottages & Gardens Publications, the debut issue is due out in September and will be poly-bagged with sister title HAMPTONS COTTAGES & GARDENS. The next issue is planned for March 2007 with a national distribution by subscription and on newsstands in major cities.
  

New Canadian magazine about faith and social action

August 29, 2006 – GEEZ was created to “untangle the narrative of faith from the fundamentalists, pious self-helpers and religio-profiteers” and the articles aim for “holy mischief rather than ideological firepower.

Will Braun is editor of this quarterly magazine, which debuted at the end of 2005.  Distribution is nationwide at bookstores and by subscription and has a circulation of 4,000 copies.
  

Surf’s up for women

August 29, 2006 – WET is a new surfing magazine for women. Features include profiles on top professionals, the growth of the sport, historical viewpoints, technique improvement how-tos, and stories about how average women surfers are progressing

Ben Marcus is editor of this quarterly title, which recently debuted with the Summer 2006 issue.  Distribution is by subscription.

New regional women's lifestyle magazine

August 24, 2006 - HER is for women in the Rochester, NY area.  The target age group is 25 to 45. Coverage includes profiles on "women to watch," fashion, food, relationships, charity events, and the arts.

Jane Sutter is editor of this bi-monthly magazine, which is published by the local newspaper, Democrat and Chronicle. The debut issue appeared in 20,000 area mailboxes on August 18, with an additional 5,000 copies distributed to spas, salons and health clubs.
  

Online travel site spins off print magazine

August 24, 2006 - SHERMAN'S TRAVEL will offer trip ideas, smart luxury values, and practical advice to the wealthiest of travelers.

At the helm of this quarterly magazine is James H. Sherman, founder of ShermansTravel.com.  The debut issue is planned for a September release.
  

New publication about Microsoft tools

August 24, 2006 - REDMOND DEVELOPER will "focus exclusively on news and product coverage serving corporate development managers working with Microsoft tools and technologies."

Doug Barney is editor-in-chief of this monthly magazine from 1105 Media's Redmond Media Group.  The title will debut with the November issue and an initial ratebase of 25,000. Publication frequency will increase to bi-weekly in early 2007.
  

Closer look at worker health realities

August 24, 2006 - JOURNAL OF HEALTH & PRODUCTIVITY will report on how workers' health correlates to workplace productivity in the form of research and case reports and articles relating to the topic.

August 24, 2006 - DBUSINESS, a new metro Detroit magazine, offers profiles, industry outlooks and in-depth market coverage for a wide range of industries.  The target audience is corporate leaders, executives, entrepreneurs and innovators.

R.J. King is editor of this bi-monthly magazine from Hour Media.  The debut September/October issue will be on newsstands September 1 and the publishing frequency will increase to monthly in March 2007. The circulation is 36,000 copies.
  

New magazines for healthcare professionals

August 17, 2006 – FUTURE HEALTHCARE and FUTURE PHARMACEUTICALS have recently launched. FUTURE HEALTHCARE evaluates new and emerging technologies and therapies and the impact on patient care.  The target audience is physicians and healthcare professionals.  FUTURE PHARMACEUTICALS presents analysis of events, developments, and trends in the marketplace

The quarterly magazines are published by Analysts In Media.  Each title distributes 35,000 copies through subscription.
  

New information technology magazine debuts

August 17, 2006 – BUSINESS TRENDS QUARTERLY helps senior-level business executives and IT professionals assess and modify IT strategies and investments.  Topics include regulatory compliance, the mobile workforce, information insecurity, and rising energy cost

The quarterly magazine is published by Analysts In Media.  35,000 copies are distributed through subscription.
  

New magazine for mid-west college students

August 17, 2006 – PROOF is looking to “entertain the socially active and professionally-oriented student by keeping them up-to-date on the latest products, news, and advice.”  A spring issue was tested at Indiana University

Derek Chin is editor-in-chief of this Rickshaw Media Group publication. 50,000 copies of the second issue will be distributed August 28 at universities in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana and Missouri.

New publication for the financial aspects of healthcare

August 14, 2006 – HEALTHCARE FINANCIAL NEWS is aimed at financial managers working for hospitals, large physician practices, or healthcare insurers.  Content “chronicles the tools, techniques and strategies used to address the industry’s pressing financial imperatives.

Fred Bazzoli is editor of this monthly publication from MedTech Publishing.  The debut issue is due out in October and a circulation of 28,500 is planned.
  

New RV lifestyle magazine debuting soon

August 14, 2006 – RV XTREME MAGAZINE is for recreational vehicle enthusiasts interested in the latest news on models, technology, and accessory products

August 14, 2006 – E2K (Everything 2 Know) will present articles covering music, style, entertainment, culture and business, with a focus on real women in real life situations

August 10, 2006 – POINTS INDIE MUSIC MAGAZINE aims to be “the official who, what, when, and how of indie music.”  Articles focus on working, surviving and thriving in the music industry and are targeted towards music makers, managers and promoters

The bi-monthly publication is set to debut in January 2007 and is published by Batiste Communications Group.  Distribution plans include nationwide newsstand availability and subscription service.
  

Emergency care magazine launches this month

August 10, 2006 – ADVANCED EMERGENCY NURSING JOURNAL is aimed at emergency care nurses, specialists and clinical practitioners. Topics include continuing education, medical developments, research, and case studies

Karen Sue Hoyt and Jean Proehl serve as co-editors of this quarterly publication, which debuts in August.  The title is published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.
  

East coast Christian magazine available

August 10, 2006 - CHRISTIAN AFFAIRS offers articles on faith, news, and social events from around the US and world.  The target audience is Christians who are 17- to 65-years-old and reside in MD, DC, VA, PA, DE, NJ and NY

Founder Gerard Thompson oversees this monthly Rainbow Publishing magazine, which debuted with the December 2005 issue.  10,000 copies are distributed in each of the states, with plans for expansion in the near future.
 

WWII events captured in magazine

August 7, 2006 - VOX is for east-end New Yorkers interested in people and places, food and wine, and culture and design.  The subtitle is, "style has a voice."

Jean Feinstein is editor-in-chief of this bi-monthly magazine from the Blue Moon Media Group.  The debut issue came out in May and is hand-delivered locally by subscription and to select vendors in neighboring areas.  The circulation is 40,000 copies.
  

New music magazine launches

August 7, 2006 - DEATH + TAXES is a new music magazine that "appeals to the personal relationship of music with its listeners."  Additional topics include books, films, and art.

Stephen Blackwell is the editor of this bi-monthly title, which debuted with its April/May issue. Distribution is in bookstores and indie record shops throughout the U.S.

August 4, 2006 - INSTRUMENT DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY is a new magazine focused on the information needs of technical and management professionals who design and manufacture instruments, test, measurement and monitoring equipment. Topics include technology advancements, business developments, market trends and the latest product and service news in all aspects of the instrumentation industry.

David Webster is editor of this Webcom Communications magazine, which debuts on newsstands August 7.

August 4, 2006 - METRO WASHINGTON HOME IMPROVEMENT is targeting homeowners with information on decorating, design, landscaping, home building, home repair and maintenance, and products.

The monthly magazine from Network Communications launched recently.  Additional information was not immediately available.
  

New regional lifestyle magazine launches

August 4, 2006 - AT HOME IN STEAMBOAT SPRINGS is all about the people, places and things that make Steamboat Springs, CO the unique place it is.  Feature articles take an in-depth look at topics "ranging from real estate to politics to kayaking" as well as tips on health and wellness, area restaurants, and entertainment.

Scott Stanford is editor of this quarterly magazine published by the Steamboat Pilot & Today. The debut issue appeared on July 23, with a distribution of 16,000 copies area-wide.
  

New magazine has three editions

August 4, 2006 - HOMES & LIFESTYLES is a planned magazine that will "showcase the best in homes and living" in and around Sarasota, Palm Beach and Boca Raton as three separate editions.

Stacy Small is editor of this quarterly publication from RMS Media Group. The title debuted with the June issue and distributes 50,000 copies to pre-qualified homeowners.
  

New magazine chronicles Jersey City

August 1, 2006 - CONVEYER attempts to articulate and document a "sense of place" for Jersey City, NJ through storytelling-style articles.  The theme is about what makes the city distinct in both people and places.
